Many people consider books to be a way to escape from reality. Not only can they take you to places that you have never been before (both real and imaginary), but books allow us to explore lives other than our own. From works of non-fiction that tell us about the world and its inhabitants, to works of fiction that take us all over the world, reading a book provides you with a new experience in life. While we can’t enter the world of fiction (as much as we might like to), there are real life objects that can make our bookish dreams more of a reality in the form of the book themed candle.

From detailed descriptions of people, places, and things, creative fans of literature have taken it upon themselves to create candles of your favorite bookish things. From a mixture of scents meant to replicate a particular person or place within a book, to magical concoctions, these bookish candle companies will give you a taste of what it’s like to live in the book you are reading (whether it is a new find or an old favorite).

Novelly Yours was founded in 2015 in order to bring little known bookish fandoms to life in candle form. Inspired by your favorite YA books, Novelly Yours began with candles and scents based off of the works of Maggie Stiefvater, Marissa Meyer and Leigh Bardugo.

While Novelly Yours is primarily inspired by the YA genre, featuring candles based off of The Raven Cycle, Shades of Magic and A Court of Thorns and Roses, there are also candles inspired by magic and Harry Potter, as well as a few classics. If YA’s not your thing, there are also reading and bookish inspired candles that include the TBR.
