12 Stunning Instagram Snaps of ‘The Slow Regard of Silent Things’

Before Patrick Rothfuss released his Kingkiller Chronicle series, I had never really been obsessed with book covers. While I found some to be pretty and appealing, I never felt a strong attraction towards one particular cover of a book. Needless to say, Rothfuss’ works have some of the most varied and beautiful covers, with my favorite being those that were used for his latest work, a novella about Auri titled, The Slow Regard of Silent Things.

About The Slow Regard of Silent Things:

Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place.

Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes. And it gives the reader a chance to learn things that only Auri knows…

Before Slow Regard was released, I had never gone out of my way to purchase a foreign edition of a book for the cover alone. I would argue that the foreign editions, particularly the UK version of the novella, has one of the prettiest covers that I have ever seen.

As such, it’s only appropriate to showcase a few of the best Instagram snaps of Patrick Rothfuss’ The Slow Regard of Silent Things:

I suffer from a major case of book cover envy.  It isn't enough to have a copy of a book I like.  If there are multiple covers, especially if they're pretty, I can't help myself.  When I got the ebook for The Name of the Wind, I figured I was in the clear because the cover I'd seen didn't grab my attention.  But then I came across a picture of this cover, and knew I had to have it.  And obviously I can't just have one book in the series.  Thank goodness for places like @bookdepository, where you can choose your covers. And let's be honest, how gorgeous are these covers? If you've never read these, I highly recommend them.  They're pretty long reads, but they're so worth it.  And the story is so engrossing, it goes pretty quickly. . . . . #bookstagram #bookdragon #prettybooks #patrickrothfuss #thenameofthewind #thewisemansfear #theslowregardofsilentthings #bookhaul #bookmail #thekingkillerchronicle #recommendedreading

@literarischernerd #diemusikderstille #patrickrothfuss #kingkillerchronicles #thekingkillerchronicle #theslowregardofsilentthings #book #books #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #instabook #bookish #bookporn #booklove #booklover #bookworm #booknerd #lesen #read #reading #igreads #bookaddict #bookphotography #bibliophile #currentlyreading #bücher #literatur #literature #fantasybook #fantasynovel #fantasybooks

Happy Saturday! I recently read The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss and I loved it. I bought it the day it came out, but I was waiting for a release date for book 3 prior to reading this. Obviously, I became tired of waiting and decided to read this. It is a very different book from the Kingkiller Chronicles, it has no plot and it is only focused on a week of Auri's life as she navigates the Underthing. I adored it. Auri is one of my favourite characters in the series so I appreciated being able to spend more time with her. 💕 The pillow was purchased on Society 6 and is designed by @taylorrosemakesart (Society 6 name is Taylor Rose). . . . . #theslowregardofsilentthings #patrickrothfuss #candles #nameofthewind #kvothe #kingkillerchronicles #reader #reading #bookstagram #bibliophile #book #fiction #fantasy #feature #favourite #igbooks #igreads #taylorrose #kvotheslegend
