15 Magical Instagrams of Your New Favorite Bookstore

15 Magical Instagrams of Your New Favorite BookstoreInstagram (@hazelstaybookish)

Emma Straub is a very successful author. She is also, unsurprisingly, a hardcore fan of book-and-mortar bookstores that celebrate readers and writers alike. Before she was a New York Times best-selling author, she even worked at one: BookCourt, an independent store in Brooklyn that was beloved until it sadly closed last December.

Straub, like many others in her Cobble Hill neighborhood, was devastated. So she hatched a plan: she would open her own independent bookstore with her husband, Michael Fusco, to fill the void BookCourt had left behind.

The result is a store for ink and paper designed for the social media set. Books Are Magic is supremely Instagrammable, with pink neon signs, exposed brick, and a dreamy light blue storefront. It’s the perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon, but if you’re not in the neighborhood, no worries.
