‘The Big Sick’ Co-Writer Emily V. Gordon to Write ‘The Nest’ for Amazon Studios

The film is based on Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney's 2016 novel of the same name.

Emily V. Gordon to Write The Nest Movie

Emily V. Gordon has been appointed to write the adaptation of Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney’s 2016 best-selling novel The NestThe Hollywood Reporter confirmed Wednesday (January 24).

The Big Sick co-writer will draft the script for Amazon studios, and Transparent creator Jill Soloway and Andrea Sperling have been attached to produce the feature under Soloway’s banner Topple. Carly Kahane will fill in as executive producer for the film based on Sweeney’s book.

The Nest, first published in March 2016, concentrates on the growing sibling tensions within the dysfunctional Plumb family, in which Jack, Beatrice, and Melody Plumb must come together to confront their brother, Leo, who’s latest self-inflicted antics threaten the Plumb siblings’ chances of receiving their father’s inheritance just months away.
