In case you’re clueless on all that’s going on in the YA world, Rebecca Serle has long cemented her impression in the YA community with her 2014 Famous In Love series.
Serle’s book series is a juicy coming-of-age contemporary that follows one talented, down-to-earth girl as she makes her big break. Paige Townsend’s dreams seem to have come true when she’s cast as the lead in a blockbuster film. Not only does she have to learn to adjust to the lifestyle of sudden fame, Paige is made to navigate this new world on her own, and endure some pretty crazy love triangle affairs with her co-stars.
In November 2016, Deadline reported that Serle’s book would be picked up for a series by Freeform, which is slated to release next Tuesday, April 18. Sure to be a major small screen smash, the novel gives a behind the scenes peek into the captivating world of the young, rich and famous celebrity lifestyle that most all of us can’t turn away from.
In case you have any doubts about the new series, Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King will be inducting the book for television, while Serle serves as co-executive producer.

Bella Thorne (Shake it Up) will plug the main role as Paige, and by the sounds of it, she’s pretty thrilled about her newest gig, seeing how she was already a fan of Serle’s beloved franchise before it was being brought to the screen.
The Goldberg‘s alum Charlie DePew and actress Georgie Flores have also been cast as Paige’s best friends, Jake and Cassandra. Carter Jenkins, who you may have spotted in 2010 romcom Valentine’s Day is will play leading man, Rainer Devon. MTV’s Faking It series regular Keith Powers will play opposite Paige and get twisted in the inevitable love triangle in his role as Jordan. No stranger to playing the hottest hunk, you may remember Powers in his role as hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre‘s little brother, Tyree, in Straight Outta Compton.
Thorne, who is an aspiring author herself, is particularly excited about the way this role has challenged her. Which makes sense, considering Paige has only been wiled into fame, whereas Thorne is admittedly more jaded, having worked as an actress from a young age.In true book adaptation fashion, show creators acknowledge that they have altered the story, making it
In true book adaptation fashion, show creators admitted to altering the story from its origin, making it edgier and sexier for TV. But we’ll be the judge of that.
