Winter Is Coming: ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Arrives in 2019

HBO

Still waiting on winter...

Get ready to scream: Game of Thrones Season 8 doesn’t arrive until…2019.

HBO confirmed today that the six-episode, series finale of major fantasy series will not arrive for another year. That means the fate of Jon Snow and Daenerys will not be revealed for at least another 361 days — like, what the eff!

David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik are all attached to helm the final season, with Benioff, Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill writing Game of Thrones Season 8. Benioff, Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger, and Bernadette Caulfield are also listed as executive producers; Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin, whose novelizations inspired the entire franchise, will all co-executive produce the finale as well.

A specified release date has yet to be confirmed.
