The Handmaid‘s Tale returns this spring, and the first trailer for Season 2 looks more menacing than ever.
As of Sunday (January 14), it’s been revealed the cult drama will make a two-episode premiere April 25, with subsequent episodes to follow every Wednesday for a 13-episode run.
According to Deadline, the second season of The Handmaid’s Tale will concentrate mainly on the pregnant Offred (portrayed by Elisabeth Moss) during her tribulation to set her daughter free from the nightmarish terrors of Gilead. Together, Offred and the other characters band in the rebellion to ward off the darkness that threatens their reality and the world they once recognized as pure.
Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, and Amanda Brugel have all been confirmed as returning performers appearing in the second season.
Since its release in April 2017, the adaptation based on Margaret Atwood‘s novel of the same name has been picking up major steam with critics. Earlier this month, the Hulu drama series took home Best Drama and Best Actress in a Drama awards at the 2018 Golden Globes.
