2017 has been a big year for J.K. Rowling’s young adult hit, Harry Potter. Not only has the beloved series following Harry, Ron and Hermione celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, but numerous announcements and releases have taken place. From the Pottermore Presents e-book series, to the announcement that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would finally be making its appearance on Broadway in 2018, fans of the series have had more than enough to look forward to. Pair that with the release of the History of Magic exhibition and the Wand Collection feature, and you will be surprised to learn that there has been yet another Harry Potter announcement this year.
According to Pottermore, Harry Potter will be available in an entirely new format next year thanks to the mobile game studio, Jam City. Under the Portkey Games label from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Jam City is developing a new mobile game that will transport users to Hogwarts, the wizarding school that every fan of the novels has been dying to attend.
The story driven game titled, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, will allow users to create their own character and experience life as a Hogwarts student. From being placed in a famed Hogwarts house, to attending classes and clubs, the new game will allow fans to experience the life of a student in the wizarding world. The game will also feature appearances by many of the characters and professors from the series, providing an interactive environment that will make you a part of Harry’s world.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be available to download on Android and Apple devices some time next year.
