John Green Reveals Cover for ‘Turtles All the Way Down’

John Green 'Turtles All the Way Down' Cover RevealedPaperback Paris

John Green‘s forthcoming Turtles All the Way Down has its cover!

The cover for Green’s latest young adult book was revealed on Good Morning America today, August 10. The book marks the author’s fifth solo novel and has been six years in the making.

In the GMA exclusive, one reporter makes a pretty shady comment about the book’s title, explaining the name derives from a philosophical “joke” with origins that suggest “the world is flat and we’re all just on a giant turtle.” The banter, paired with another anchor’s cheeky “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” mentions, makes this intro to Green’s book blatantly rude.

With that, here’s a more serious, accurate synopsis of the book:

Turtles All the Way Down begins with a fugitive billionaire and a cash reward. It is about lifelong friendship, the intimacy of an unexpected reunion, Star Wars fan fiction, and tuatara. But at its heart is Aza Holmes, a young woman navigating daily existence within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

Turtles All the Way Down releases October 10.

John Green to Publish Next Novel This October

The following article was originally written by Contributing Writer Leah Rodriguez

On Thursday (June 22), John Green announced at VidCon (and via Twitter for those of us not lucky enough to be there) that his next book will be published on October 10.

In a new VlogBrothers video, Green happily announced the upcoming publication of his new novel, Turtles All the Way Down, a story about a young woman attempting to solve a mystery while battling mental illness.

Though reluctant to give away too many details, the author made Twitter explode with excitement at just the prospect of a new novel, especially from fellow writers. (Including the supposedly begrudged Lev Grossman…but we’ll let you be the judge on that.)

In the past, Green has openly expressed the difficulties he’s faced when writing a new book after the massive success of The Fault in Our Stars, which was published back in 2012.

In another VlogBrothers video (see below) uploaded last September, Green also explained why he hadn’t published anything in so long and why the undertaking became a daunting process for him.

Even with that being said, the news of another book from Green only stokes my excitement for its release! And plus, I’m sure that for every Green fan out there, October 10 can’t come soon enough.

How excited are you for Turtles All the Way Down to release this October?
