CANT BREATHE

This is not a drill: Ruth Ware‘s The Woman in Cabin 10 is being turned into a movie!

March is really shaping up to be the month of book-to-movie adaptations. First, there was Dumplin and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and now Ware’s sophomore novel, The Woman in Cabin 10, is next in line to get remade for theaters. You guys, I can’t even keep my composure now, and honestly, how could I?

According to Deadline—officially my new fave source for all things on book adaptations—CBS Films won its tug of war match with bidders DreamWorks and Sony over the screen rights to Ware’s 2016 mystery thriller last Thursday (March 16). The film is being spearheaded by Vice President of Productions Mark Ross, Eagle Eye‘s Hillary Seitz will pen the script, and produced by The Gotham Group.

Here’s what we know about The Woman in Cabin 10:

Journalist Lo Blacklock receives the assignment of her life, which includes a week-long all-expenses paid luxury cruise with limited cabins. On the face of it, Lo enjoys basking in all the luxuries afforded by her occupation—the lavish cabana, friendly guests, incredible dinner parties. That is until she witnesses what she hopes was a ghastly mirage: a woman is thrown overboard. Even stranger than the illusionary incident: all the passengers have been accounted for, and no one seems to be the wiser except Lo. Everyone else goes on as if nothing’s the matter, but Lo can’t shake the image of what she just saw. There are answers, and she is determined to find them.

In case you’ve been in the dark on the British author’s latest projects, her debut thriller novel, In a Dark, Dark Wood was already optioned for film by Big Little Lies bigshot Reese Witherspoon in September 2015, Variety reported. The actress has been championing the novelist’s works since her breakout in 2015, and as someone who’s also read Ware’s books, I can totally vouch that the hype surrounding the promising author is REAL (and much deserved).

AAAAAANDDDD THERE’S ONE MORE THING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT RUTH WARE!!!!

She has a new book coming out this year called, The Lying Game!

In any regard, this only makes me more anxious to read more of Ware’s work, especially The Woman in Cabin 10, which has been on my bookshelf for a while. Which means I probably should push through these TBRs a bit quicker than I have lately.

Anyways, we hope you guys are as excited (!!!) as we are for all the news on Ware this year!

Are you pumped for The Woman in Cabin 10 being made into a film?!
